They have a passion for diversity and for doing their job. Whether they take their work home or not, their work will always be determined by the values they live each day and their life will be determined by the values they promote in the workplace.
When organizations began embracing diversity in the 1980s, many believed that the answer was diversified education. They believe that if all employees attend diversified training, prejudice, complaints, and litigation will disappear and everyone will work together in harmony forever. There are two types of people involved in diversity training, education and organizational development. Some people thought it was a show or a trend. These people read some books, take training courses or buy them by mail, calling themselves experts.
The second group knew it was a process rather than a one-day program, and to achieve the change they had to experience it, learn from it, and continue to develop their passion for it. They understand the need to incorporate diversity into an organization's business strategy for the rest of their lives.
